Trump Executive Orders Demand Roundtable Response – Discussion Planned for Monday!
Last week, President Trump signed several Executive Orders aimed at lowering the cost of prescription drugs in the U.S. Unfortunately, the President ultimately chose to include the elimination of rebates in Medicare Part D as one of the four policies.
As we’ve reported, the Roundtable strongly opposes this decision along with our stakeholder allies, including consumer groups, health plans, PBM partners, and many others. The decision will raise premiums for public sector retirees and their dependents, and according to official estimates by the HHS’s own Office of the Actuary would increase premiums in Medicare Part D overall by 25%.
Since the Orders have raised a number of questions among our members, we have scheduled a Zoom meeting for August 3 at 4:00 PM. The purpose of the call is to respond to member question and to discuss our strategic response.
More information regarding the Executive Orders can be found here.
Should you have any questions prior to Monday’s online meeting, don’t hesitate to reach out to Andrew MacPherson, Roundtable Senior Policy Advisor, with questions or comments regarding the Executive Orders signed by President Trump.
