Webinar – The HealthCare Roundtable Considers Two Timely Issues: The Reauthorization of PCORI and the Current Drug Pricing Debate

The Roundtable’s webinar focused on two issues of interest to Roundtable members, allies, and friends:

– The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) needs to be reauthorized by October 1, 2019. Members of Congress are currently seeking stakeholder input regarding the reauthorization and the Roundtable plans to be an active participant in that discussion. The webinar featured a presentation by Andrew Hu, Director, Public Policy and Government Relations for PCORI. Andrew is responsible for PCORI’s engagement with policymakers, agencies, and officials at all levels of government to increase their understanding of, and support for, PCORI’s mission and strategic goals.

– The second portion of the webinar was a presentation by Lauren Aronson, Executive Director of the Campaign for Sustainable Drug Pricing. With a background that includes leading health care policy roles in the Obama White House and U.S. House and now leader of the Campaign, Lauren is an expert on drug pricing reforms and policy strategies to curb costs. She discussed the state of the drug pricing debate in Washington, its impact on public sector purchasers, and the efforts of the Campaign.
